Latest Bust in Belaya Tserkov:
The police scored a big win in the fight against unauthorized gambling as they seized 13 computers, routers, cash, and around 19 liters of alcohol from a gaming hall, as per the regional National Police's official website.
During a recent raid, the administration and five players were present. The cops have opened criminal proceedings against the establishment's owners, and they've drawn up administrative offense protocols for the visitors.
It's worth mentioning that the Belarusian Police Bureau of Economic Security (BEB) has closed down five illegal gambling dens in Belaya Tserkov.
Interestingly, Ukrainian authorities have been stepping up their game against underground gambling establishments, not just within Belaya Tserkov but across the country. These clandestine gaming halls include casinos, betting shops, and online gambling hubs that lack the necessary permits to operate legally.
Recent raids have seen police, frequently working with the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), target these illegal gambling hotspots and seize equipment like computers, slot machines, and stacks of cash. The authorities have been confiscating considerable amounts of cash and gambling devices suspected to be involved in illegal activities.
Several individuals suspected of running these gambling rings have been detained. Preventive measures and fines are being imposed upon them, with some cases moving forward for prosecution under Ukraine’s strict gambling laws.
This crackdown on illegal gambling activities is in line with Ukraine’s broader strategy to rein in unlawful gambling operations since 2020, following a push to regulate and legalize gambling.
